About the Giant
Schnauzer Club of America, Inc.
|
The Giant Schnauzer Club of
America, Inc., was founded in 1962 by
Robert L. Barker
as a non-profit
organization. The club's American Kennel Club® licensed Specialty Shows have
been held every year since 1968. |

|
The official
Breed Standard was
completely revised by the GSCA and approved by the
American Kennel Club® in 1971 and updated in 1983. The
Constitution and
By-Laws were approved in 1976.
The main purposes of the GSCA are the preservation and
protection of the breed, and to improve the character,
performance, health and
conformation of the Giant Schnauzer as described in the official
standard of the breed. The GSCA holds Specialty Shows,
Obedience Trials, and less formal matches and other events.
