Squamous Cell Carcinoma Study Needs Participants, Saturday, October 20, 2007 2007 Health & Heredity Report, Saturday, October 20, 2007 CHIC DNA Repository, Sunday, April 22, 2007 The Giant Schnauzer Club of America (GSCA) is pleased to announce that AKC registered Giant Schnauzers can now participate in the Canine Health Information Center (CHIC) DNA Database program!
The Canine Health Information Center provides participation breed clubs with quarterly reports on qualifying dogs. At this time the requirements for the Giant Schnauzer are: Hip certification (OFA or Penn-Hip), CERF, and thyroid testing. If you have a dog that qualifies please contact CHIC to find out what you need to do to include your Giant with these reports. Future reports will be posted on the GSCA Health page. CHIC Listing of Giant Schnauzers Cavalier King Charles Spaniel Club shares a webpage of upcoming canine health testing clinics throughout the United States, Saturday, November 19, 2005 The Cavalier Club is keeping an updated listing of health clinics throughout the US. If your dog needs a CERF exam or microchipping, you can check their site for dates and clinics available. They are listed by location and by date. Longevity Study Looking for Participants Tuesday, October 18, 2005 GSCA Official Participant in CHIC Program Saturday, July 16, 2005 GSCA is officially a participant in
the CHIC (Canine Health Information Center) program. The Giant
Schnauzer has been added to the list of CHIC breeds. At this point
only ten dogs qualify though. To qualify a dog, the owner/breeder
must have the three certifications/tests (Hips, thyroid, CERF),
filed these results with OFA, Penn-Hip, or CERF and signed the
release allowing this information to be released to the public.
