 About the GSCA

The Giant Schnauzer Club of America, Inc. was founded in 1962 as a non-profit organization.

The club is made up of members who enjoy the breed and doing everything from Schutzhund to Agility. The Giant Schnauzer is also one of the most beautiful animals to compete in the conformation ring. There is no doubt that the Giant Schnauzer is versatile. The strength to match any working dog and the temperament and gentleness to play with a child. As members we all love and enjoy our giants everyday.

The main purpose of the club is the preservation and protection of the breed, and to improve the character and conformation of the Giant as described in the official standard of the breed. The GSCA holds Specialty Shows, Obedience Trials, and less formal matches and other events. The club's A.K.C. licensed Specialty Shows have been held every year since 1968. The official Breed Standard was completely revised by the GSCA and approved by the A.K.C. in 1971. and updated in 1983. The Constitution and By-Laws were approved in 1976.
